Description

Fisheye video data holds significant importance across various applications owing to its unique imaging characteristics. The fisheye lens, capable of capturing an exceptionally wide field of view, exceeding 180 degrees, has become integral in modern technology. In the realm of security and surveillance, fisheye cameras for example are widely adopted, offering a panoramic perspective that minimizes blind spots and enhances overall coverage. These cameras contribute to comprehensive monitoring of large areas, improving situational awareness. Beyond security, automotive applications benefit from fisheye cameras, particularly in advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and parking assistance. These cameras provide a holistic view around vehicles, aiding in navigation, obstacle detection, and overall safety. Aside from this, the ability of fisheye lenses to capture an extensive field of view makes it a pivotal technology in addressing various challenges and enhancing the capabilities of many more modern systems. This data set aims at providing researchers with video sequences for developing and testing algorithms designed for fisheye data. Both synthetic sequences generated in [Blender](http://www.blender.org) as well as real-world sequences captured with an actual fisheye camera are provided. The field of view is 185° for all sequences; the focal length is 1.8 mm. Further details on both setup and settings as well as on the sequence characteristics may be found in the corresponding ICASSP 2016 publication (information below). For details, please refer to the ReadMe.md file.
