Recent research results suggest that the consolidation of motor memory content can be positively enhanced in particular if the acute endurance stress follows the motor exercise process. This phenomenon is based on improved memory stabilization, but has so far only been proven in healthy adults. Since the consolidation process - i.e. the memory stabilization following the exercise process - of (newly) learned movements is particularly impaired in Parkinson's disease, an endurance exercise following the motor learning task appears very promising and will therefore be tested in the second experiment.
