Project details

Short description

The performance of AI server systems depends largely on the speed of the internal data connections. For this purpose, an integrated electro-optical transceiver (optical engine) is being developed as an electro-photonic integrated circuit (EPIC), which achieves data rates of up to 224 Gbit/s and at the same time reduces the space requirement, which requires a reduction in energy consumption to below 2 pJ/bit. Highly dynamic interference from the transmitter is compensated for by efficient control concepts and a compact embedded controller.
