The aim of this article is to examine some concepts of the Philosophy of limit by Eugenio Trías and the notion of “genealogy” proposed by Michel Foucault. From the analysis of two trilogies of images, it is possible to observe the emergence of dialogues that help us to think about how the shadows of existence hidden in the fold of reason appear. The most important question has to do with the “matrix environment” (origin) and with the movement of “exile and exodus” of the being. The chosen images work as Foucaultian “genealogical milestones”, or as “truths without appearance” and “without history” which present linkages that induce other hermeneutical readings. Some of the analyzed images are related to San Juan in Argentina, the chosen place that implies the existence of all these reflections and allows us to visually connect them.
