Abstract

Mesoporous hybrid, materials of (oligo)phenothiazmes cova-lently grafted onto MCM-41 or SBA-15 silica have been readily prepared from (oligo)phenothiazinyl carbamates. The phenothiazine precursors show interesting electronic proper-ties according to electronic spectroscopy and cyclic voltammetry. The resulting electronically active hybrid materials display fluorescence and can be oxidized to give stable radi-cal-cationic species upon mild oxidation. © 2009 Wiley-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA.
